A smart or casual match for any pair of jeans or trousers, shirts are an ultimate essential for all men’s wardrobes, whatever the occasion! And the traditional long-sleeved model, easy to dress up and down and fit for mostly all seasons if you simply roll up the sleeves, is the best of them all!

As we've already hinted at, short-sleeved shirts are always a great choice for summer, but when the weather gets colder, you’ll want to invest in a selection of shirts with long sleeves. For fancier mid-season occasions, why not try a crepe shirt over a pair of chinos, or a classic poplin model which works well both in the office and at the weekend. Fitted designs with an Oxford or mandarin collar will provide an extra sharp finish to your look, but easy-care, regular-fit models function just as well! On the more casual end of the spectrum, flannel shirts, denim shirts and twill shirts work best into winter, thanks to their thicker fabric which offers increased insulation. These shirts are easy to style, and can be effortlessly layered over a vest, t-shirt or long sleeve base layer!

In winter, red and blue checked shirts made from cosy flannel fabric are our favourite pick though.
